We are starting full out potty training (underwear only!) on the 27th...putting the plan in place as we speak, getting all parties involved on board.Kathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02509305523940634182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025297.post-50895513490522673752009-07-16T01:16:59.242-04:002009-07-16T01:16:59.242-04:00I meant 'the seed is already there', oops ...I meant 'the seed is already there', oops :)Cristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18163922665102071166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025297.post-76311686504963754242009-07-16T01:15:37.788-04:002009-07-16T01:15:37.788-04:00I totally remember your post on the 'poo visua...I totally remember your post on the 'poo visual', when you explained how many steps it actually takes to go for a poo, from noticing that you need to go, to watching your poo and pulling up your pants some, like, 24 steps later. I remember you talking about it like you guys were taking it on but it was gonna take a long time, you didn't sound too sure on how that was gonna go, etc. I'm sure you remember your own post too, :), so I'll go straight to my point: this is awesome!! Potty training seemed like this impossible quest barely two months ago, and now look, the see is totally there already!! GO MAX!!!Cristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18163922665102071166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025297.post-54526364778386589312009-07-15T23:20:14.798-04:002009-07-15T23:20:14.798-04:00Isn't it exciting to see the big changes and g...Isn't it exciting to see the big changes and growth in our kids. I remember before we got our official dx for my son, (but I knew he was on the spectrum) I was worried sick that I'd never hear my son utter the word "mamma". He would play with his older sister's battery operated doll that would say "mamma" whenever you caressed the doll's cheek. I recall sitting there with a lump in my throat overcome with saddness because a toy was able to say what I so desperately wanted to hear come out of my baby boy's mouth. It was so painfully unfair. Fast forward 6 months to today and he not only says "mamma" but "mommy" and many other words and word approximations. Most recently, he's combining two words like "mommy open"- to ask me to open the door, or "mommy up" to ask to be picked up. With lots of hard work and ABA/IBI our kids are capable of accomplishing so much. Unfortunately here in Ontario we have to wait so long and fight so hard to access publicly funded ABA.

Way to go Max! Way to go "duhduh"! Keep up the great work!
-SZAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9025297.post-9619984219974326192009-07-15T10:51:16.022-04:002009-07-15T10:51:16.022-04:00all signs of him becoming so much more aware of hi...all signs of him becoming so much more aware of his surroundings.
