Max was a big fan of the yellow plums last week, so I knew I had to get some more of those for him. I also got him purple plums. There weren't any raspberries this week, but I did get blueberries and peaches. I also got corn, mini cucumbers, orange (low acid) and red cherry tomatoes, summer squash, green beans, peas, turkey and ham. I think by the end of August I'll be doing 95% of my shopping at this weekly market.
Tonight we had burgers with fresh buns from Cobs Bakery, corn, a mixed green salad, and peaches and blueberries over vanilla ice cream for dessert. Yummmmmmmmmy.
just wanted to say i love your blog - it's really inspiring. I'm enjoying reading about your local food adventure!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are digging it - I'm sitting here with Max who is eating his lunch of fresh bread, ham and plums, and I'm guessing it is one of the best lunches being served to a two year old! Last night he stole the corn off my plate too...what a kid.
