Every morning when I drop Cameron off at daycare, I stop and look at this beautiful cherry blossom tree. I take a deep breath, take a moment and enjoy it.
There are pictures of my kids, videos my friends make, quilt fabric, a barbapapa figurine my friend Jennifer brought me from Paris, my good luck Japanese Maneki Neko cat, and the generosity of others towards a cause I am passionate about.

My favourite gifts are ones that my friends make, be it a cd they pour their heart and soul into, a sketch in a notebook, or a knit shawl in the perfect shade of red.

I framed Cameron's art and hung it on the wall of my powder room so it is the first thing I look at every morning. It reminds me how lucky I am.

You got me all sappy now. :) The things that make me the happiest are when Emma says, "I love you mommy" and how squishy and snuggly Jack is when he wakes up from his afternoon nap. Can't put a price on either of those!
ReplyDeleteblow makes me really happy :)
ReplyDeleteHe enjoys the wind in his hair?? Wow. When they do stuff like that, it just makes me wonder...I am stumped seriously.
ReplyDeleteWhen Khaled sits there almost sighing when Eve and Wall-e are holding hands I am just wondering, what goes in that head!?
Bless you Max. What a guy.
There's a great saying, "The best things in life aren't things." Even the things that you treasure, like the pictures, aren't loved because of what they are but because of the thought and effort that went into them.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me happy? Hearing that Charlotte finally spoke to her teacher. Finally.
Also, watching Ronan try to figure out crawling because it reminds me that everything - both him and life in general - is moving forward and progressing.
Wall-E and Eva holding hands makes me happy too. Parting from Kayaleb, my Jesse's wee boy, and having him turn as they go into their house and shout Ï love you Gramma!"back at me is also a happy-maker. Mostly, it's not things, it's people, and the fun we have together.
