canadian thanksgiving: my first solo turkey.

The thing I was most worried about today was the turkey. I mean, I've never been a huge fan of turkey, but really is the centre piece of any holiday meal. Turns out, Martha knows her stuff - the turkey was the best I've ever had (cue Drake). So thanks Ms.Stewart for having my back, and thank you turkey for being cooked all the way through even though that little red button didn't pop out completely.
Also, thank you Dave for carving the turkey for me - you're a pro.
And thank you for my crew for eating with such gusto.  Specifically, thank you to Max and Cam for coming to the table and sitting so nicely.  It really was wonderful having everyone together.
I got all excited (and hungry) and started eating before I got a picture of my plate.  The mashed potatoes and gravy were also out of Martha's cookbook.
I figured I deserved to be in at least one picture, since I cooked the entire meal (and cleaned up) all by myself.  Notice everyone happily stuffing their faces behind me.
Nana and Cam are all business.
Best shot of the night - Scott and the kids passed out after dinner.  I did my job.  All hail the chef.
Okay, I need to go unzip my pants and rub my belly.  Happy thanksgiving everyone - let's do it again tomorrow!

  1. Glad to hear your turkey turned out amazing. I remember our first turkey meal we hosted. I was terrified but it turned out amazing as well.
